Income taxes
Your personal return, your business return, or both. And if a letter from the IRS showed up that you don’t understand, bring it in: we read it together and tell you what it means and what comes next.
What you need to bring
- W-2, 1099 or a record of your income
- ID and Social Security number or ITIN
- Last year’s return, if you have it
- Any letter you’ve received from the IRS
How long it takes
Most are filed the same day as your appointment
If there is anything unusual about your case, we tell you on the call before we start.
How it works
-
You bring your documents
The income ones, your ID, and last year’s return if you have it handy.
-
We go over what you’re entitled to
Deductions and credits. A lot of people lose money not knowing they exist.
-
We explain it before we file
How much you’re getting back or how much you owe, and why. Nothing gets filed without you knowing what it says.
-
We file and you keep your copy
Electronic filing, and the document in your hand.
Who it’s for
- People and families with a W-2, a 1099 or self-employment income
- Business owners who need the business return and the personal one
- Anyone who got a letter from the IRS and doesn’t know what to answer
Questions we get
Can I file without a Social Security number?
Yes, with an ITIN. And if you don’t have one, it can be applied for. It’s one of the most common questions we get.
I owe money and don’t have all of it. What do I do?
Not filing is usually worse: the penalty for not filing is normally larger than the one for not paying. The IRS has payment plans, and we help you apply for one.
Can I file previous years?
Yes, late returns can still be filed. If you have several years outstanding, call and we’ll put them in order of priority.
Call and we’ll tell you what’s next
In two minutes we’ll know whether your case is simple or whether we need to sit down.
